Some 40 years professional experience as writer, broadcaster and film-maker on visual arts subjects- Art Critic of the Times for 7 years, Director of the ICA in London, etc.

Began painting 1985/6 when living at Sizewell, so Suffolk seas and scenery are a recurring though not exclusive subject.

Exhibits regularly with Suffolk Group as a founding member and with Ipswich Art society and Southwold Art Circle as a former Chairman of both.

Six solo shows. As a specialist on work of Suffolk painter Harry Becker, published the monograph ‘Becker’ in 2002.
