Diana Marsden B.A.

Trained at The Harris School of Art, Lancs. (1959 – 63) and later gained a B.A. in Art History with the Open University in 2000.
In 1967 Diana moved to Aldeburgh, Suffolk and started painting the Suffolk landscape.

All work is in Oils using Canvas, Board or Cardboard as supports.  A predominance of white is used to produce paintings in a high key and also the addition of a Turpentine – Beeswax mixture which gives a chalky impasto - like quality.

Signal influences have been the work of Gwen John and that of Mary Potter who was both a friend and mentor.

A Founder member of The Suffolk Group, there is a strong spiritual affininty for the Suffolk landscape, which after forty years in the vicinity is abundantly evident in her work.
